Established in 2012, the Linacre Ladies that Lift (LLtL) are cis, trans, and genderqueer women, and non-binary, agender and intersex people who train in powerlifting. We are people of all ages and abilities/disabilities. We benefit from excellent professional coaching. Beginners are always welcome.
This 10-minute video by filmmaker Guy Loftus gives an idea of what lifting with us is like: empowering and fun.
Why Powerlifting?
We lift for different reasons, for example:
- for general fitness and confidence
- to compete in powerlifting with the BDFPA
- to get stronger for another sport
- to increase our independence as disabled people
- to prevent or reverse osteoporosis
