About

Established in 2012, the Linacre Ladies that Lift (LLtL) are cis, trans, and genderqueer women, and non-binary, agender and intersex people who train in powerlifting. We are people of all ages and abilities/disabilities. We benefit from excellent professional coaching. Beginners are always welcome.

This 10-minute video by filmmaker Guy Loftus gives an idea of what lifting with us is like: empowering and fun.

Why Powerlifting?

We lift for different reasons, for example:

  • for general fitness and confidence
  • to compete in powerlifting with the BDFPA
  • to get stronger for another sport
  • to increase our independence as disabled people
  • to prevent or reverse osteoporosis

If you’ve got questions about whether powerlifting is for you, you can email us here. See what our members say about lifting with us as well!
